I had the honor of presenting my painting of rep. Calvin Smyre at the Georgia capital. The painting will hang in the capital building as a reminder of the service of the "Dean of the house".
During all the long nights painting on the Google Doodle, it never occurred to me who may be seeing my art. Yes, I knew it would be seen many times, but who would be seeing it was another matter. That was until the head of the internet, the CEO of Google tweeted a thank you to me. At that moment I realized that all those I've admired almost certainly would have seen my work.
Veterans Day 2021, I received the opportunity of a lifetime for an artist. My painting of Google's doodle was presented to the world. Allowing my work to be seen billions of times, on the worlds largest platform. The early drafts and sketches are now part of the Columbus Museum collection.
A historical wrong was righted with the naming of Mary Hall Bussey, Superintendent of Negro schools. She served in the roll of superintendent from 1940 until 1968 without being granted the title or having a portrait in the halls of the Muscogee County Board of Education. Now she has both!
During a Military Artist Fine Art show in Houston, TX. I had a chance to lead a wonderful Group art project. This art piece was then presented to the Buffalo Soldier Museum. I was in the cavalry during my military service, so I am a buffalo solder. Here I am with some great artist, including Frank Frazier and Najee Dorsey.
My son and I had a great time Back in Georgia's Capital building. We presented another painting to the Governor.
My painting was chosen by the Georgia council for the arts to hang in the capital building. After seeing the painting, the Governor requested that it be displayed in his offices.
