As an African American realist painter, my work reflects the nuances of the human experience through the lens of my cultural heritage and personal narrative. Each brushstroke is a testament to the resilience, strength, and beauty of the African American community, interwoven with the complexities of identity, history, and the unyielding quest for self-expression.
My creative journey is deeply rooted in the stories of those who came before me, as well as the vibrant, evolving tapestry of contemporary Black life. By capturing candid moments, soulful portraits, and everyday scenes, I aim to create a visual dialogue that resonates with viewers on an emotional and intellectual level.
In my art, I strive to highlight the dignity and grace of my subjects, while also addressing the social and political realities that shape our existence. My paintings are not just representations of reality; they are invitations to reflect, to empathize, and to engage with the world around us.
Through a meticulous attention to detail, I endeavor to reveal the profound beauty that often goes unnoticed in our fast-paced lives. My work is a celebration of the human spirit, an homage to our shared humanity, and a call to embrace the power of art as a means of connection and understanding.
